Chapter 1 · The Beginning

A Boy from a Small Town
— 2003

Our founder grew up in a small town most people have never heard of. His father ran a small stationery shop. His mother taught at the local primary school. There was no startup culture, no coworking spaces, no venture capital — just a boy who spent his evenings reading every computer magazine he could borrow from the district library.

He was 14 when he first touched a computer. A neighbour's desktop. Windows 98. Dial-up internet so slow you could make tea while a page loaded. But the moment he saw a website load — a real page, built by someone somewhere — something clicked inside him that never clicked back off.

"I didn't know what the internet would become," he recalls. "I just knew that whoever built those pages had the power to reach the entire world from a tiny room. That felt like magic to me. And I wanted to do magic."

Chapter 2 · The Leap

One Bus Ticket to Delhi — 2005

At 18, he packed a single bag and boarded an overnight bus to Delhi. No contacts. No college admission confirmed. No plan B. His family thought he was crazy. His neighbours were politely certain he'd be back within six months.

He rented a 6×8 foot room in Laxmi Nagar — shared with two other boys from small towns chasing their own impossible dreams. He enrolled in a 6-month computer course by day and worked night shifts at a data entry centre to pay the rent. Some nights he ate biscuits for dinner. Some nights he skipped dinner entirely.

But every spare hour, he was teaching himself HTML, CSS, Photoshop from pirated books he bought at Daryaganj Sunday market. He built his first website — a cricket fan page — in 2006. It got 200 visitors. He was more excited than he'd ever been about anything.

First Paid Client

A small textile shop in Karol Bagh paid him ₹4,500 for his first commercial website. He didn't sleep for two days building it. The client cried happy tears when he saw it live. So did he — in the bathroom, so nobody would see.

The Rejection That Built Him

He applied to join a "real" digital agency in Gurugram. They rejected him — said he lacked "formal education" and "industry experience." He drove back to Laxmi Nagar on his bicycle, and that night he wrote one line in his diary: "Fine. I'll build my own."

SPEORA is Born

With ₹40,000 borrowed from his elder sister, a rented desk in a shared office in Faridabad, and a second-hand iMac, SPEORA was launched. His first employee was a college friend who worked for free for three months because he believed in the dream.

From Nothing

The early years of SPEORA were not glamorous. He cold-called businesses from a printed Yellow Pages directory. He took every project, no matter how small — visiting cards, flyers, one-page websites, logo designs. He once rode a bus to Noida in the rain for a ₹8,000 project, because every project was a stepping stone.

What set him apart was something simple: he genuinely cared. While other agencies sent generic reports, he called clients at 11 PM to explain an SEO result. While others disappeared after launch, he checked in three months later. Clients didn't just hire him — they trusted him. And trust, he discovered, is the only currency that compounds.

By 2012, word of mouth had brought him 100 clients. He hired his first real team — five people, each as hungry as he had been at 18. He he told each of them the same thing on their first day: "Nobody here is just an employee. We are all building something together."
